Get a look at the new Palmetto Trail Boyd passage trailhead and help create a pollinator garden. The Midlands Chapter, partnering with the Palmetto Trail, has a grant from the SC PRT Recreational Trails Program to install two pollinator gardens and educational signage on the Trail. The Boyd Passage Trailhead, accessed off Leesburg Road near the McCrady National Guard facility, is a perfect place for outreach about native plants. It is right next to the boardwalk, leads to Cooks Mountain, will be heavily used, and has facilities to host school groups. So far we have two signs in place, but no plants. Join us on Saturday, September 20 beginning at 9:00 a.m. to add the good stuff. Bring gloves and a shovel or trowel, and perhaps a rake to spread mulch. We think it won't take long --and you can hike afterward if you are so inclined. There are restroom facilities and water on the site.
