Description
Piedmont Chapter member Robert Carter will lead a small group through RockHill Blackjacks Heritage Preserve, whose 291 acres are all that remains of the prairie system that existed in South Carolina when it began to be settled by Europeans. This is the only location where the federally endangered Schweinitz's sunflower is permanently protected. There are 3 rare plant commmunities and 21 rare plant species here. We hope to see the Scheweinitz's suflower, purple phlox, false foxglove, blazing star, and perhaps prarie dock, in bloom.
Space is limited to 20!
