Lowcountry Chapter Field Trip - Mothing in Francis Marion National Forest

Meeting Location: To be shared with registered participants

Description: Join Dr. Brian Scholtens, professor at the College of Charleston, for an evening excursion to observe moths and other insects that are attracted to MV lights after dark. Dr. Scholtens will set up two light sheets that will attract moths after dark and participants will be able to observe, photograph, and learn about some local moth species.  What arrives is always a surprise!

Additional details: You will want long pants and good closed-toe shoes.  Bug repellent is likely to be needed with all the rain we have had recently.  Bring a small flashlight to get a better look at the moths, water, snacks, camera. No facilities are available.
