Description

Meeting at Huger Recreation Area at 9:00 AM oon June 13th.

3785 SC-402, Cordesville, SC 29434 - Huger Recreational Area - Meet at the Picnic shelter on the right when you pull in...before you turn down towards the boat ramp towards Huger Creek.

For Saturday's fieldtrip, we will meet up at a designated location and then caravan into the National Forest, stopping at several sites. We will visit at a variety of sites - depressional wetlands, 100,000 year old dunes, dry woodlands, calcareous hardwoods and, of course, pinelands! Long pants and footwear for wet areas highly suggested. Bring water/fluids, snacks/lunch, and definitely insect repellent. No long hikes, just short walks. And please be aware that once we enter the Forest, there are NO restroom facilities, gas stations or stores so come fully prepared!
