Following Jeff Jackson's presentation earlier in the week, join us for a tour of a coastal botanical wonderland, the Francis Marion National Forest! Jeff, the Hell Hole Naturalist, will lead us on a tour of the forest during spring wildflower season. We will meet up at a designated location and then caravan into the National Forest, stopping at several sites. We will visit a variety of habitats - depressional wetlands, 100,000 year old dunes, dry woodlands, calcareous hardwoods and, of course, pinelands! No long hikes, just short walks. And please be aware that once we enter the Forest, there are NO restroom facilities, gas stations or stores so come fully prepared!

Carpooling from the South Coast (Beaufort, Hampton, Colleton, Jasper counties) is recommended to reduce impact to the forest, lower carbon footprints, and ease logistics.
