Protecting the Jewels of the Night: How You Can Support Fireflies

Learn about the lifecycle of fireflies, why they flash, common species in South Carolina, and steps we can all take to help ensure fireflies continue to light up the night sky.

Based in Columbia, Brad is a local ambassador for the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. He also serves on Columbia's recently created Bee City Committee and he co-leads Whitehall Gardens for Wildlife, a project to transform a vacant lot into habitat for pollinators and other small wildlife.
