Description: Join Kalmia Gardens' Assistant Director, Lucy Contreras, for her presentation Native Plants: Inviting Nature to Your Doorstep. This presentation looks at plants native to South Carolina and how native plants can help to benefit not only your garden, but the environment too! Learn about different native plants for a variety of conditions and become inspired to include these tough, and often low maintenance, plants into your landscape.

Bio: Lucy Contreras is the Assistant Director of Kalmia Gardens of Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina. She has been working in horticulture and public gardens for over a decade in both New York and South Carolina. Lucy earned her Associate's Degree in Ornamental Horticulture at SUNY Farmingdale in New York. She has been at Kalmia Gardens since December 2024.
