Description

Join Tom Austin, local naturalist and Director of Land Conservation for Edisto Island Open Land Trust, for a guided nature walk through the Town of Meggett's Roxbury Park, located at 4494 SC-174, Meggett, SC 29449. Roxbury Park is a roughly 200-acre park with over 4,000 feet of frontage along Toogoodoo Creek. The property boasts a wide diversity of habitat types and thus a staggering biodiversity for its relatively small size. To date, over 500 species of plants and another 1,000 species of animals and fungi have been documented on the property. A stroll below its mature upland forests, across its freshwater marsh, along the creek and ponds, or through its native wildflower plantings is almost certain to yield something surprising!

If you would like to carpool or caravan, meet me at the Tractor Supply Company on Savannah Highway, located at 4405 Savannah Hwy, Ravenel, SC 29470 between 8:15 and 8:30am.

And let me know if you have any questions, need to cancel, or are running late!
