AFTERWORK FIELD TRIP RIGHT IN TOWN!

Tour the Timberlane area, Richland County and City of Columbia properties that Gills Creek Watershed is helping to restore for use as a passive neighborhood park. Our leaders will be Bailey Slice Parker and Andy Melanson. In addition to seeing mountain laurel and native rhododendrons, we’ll get to view an active heron and egret rookery. We’ll learn about plans for the area and the transformation of the environment due to the changing water table.

IMPORTANT LOCATION INFO:  Please park in the marked spaces in front of the Edmond drive entrance to the church at 1516 South Beltline Boulevard (turning downhill onto Edmond). Once parked it’s a short walk down the hill to meet us at the corner of Edmond and Timberlane, please no parking or driving down Timberlane drive.

WHAT TO BRING:  Please wear weather-appropriate clothing.  Bring a hat, bug spray, and your binoculars.
