Midlands Chapter March Meeting
Admission
- Free
Location
1605 Park Circle
Columbia, SC 29201
United States of America
Description
At our meeting next week we'll dive into iNaturalist with Grant Foster and Zack Radford. You can start using it immediately and be ready for the Columbia City Nature Challenge, a bioblitz coming April 25-28. See our April Calendar for more on that.
Our presenters are PhD students in USC's Department of Biological Sciences and organizers of the Columbia City Nature Challenge.
Grant is "broadly a quantitative ecologist who studies the structure of plant-animal interaction networks, including plant-pollinator and plant-frugivore systems. Answering questions with large-scale open data sources (including iNaturalist) is a big part of my research program.”
Zack's research focuses on investigating the genetic bases for floral trait evolution in Penstemon (Beardtongues).
Our meetings are open to all but memberships support our work in the Midlands and around South Carolina.
Please consider joining SCNPS if you’re not yet a member. It's a good idea to check that your membership is up to date: log in to check at scnps.org.
