Description
Grand Strand Chapter Winter Seminar
"Rare and fascinating plants of the Black River" by Botanist Cecelia Dailey
Join us for a winter seminar. Our speaker will be botanist Celie Dailey, an expert on the flora of the Black River and surrounding areas. She will present on the rare and fascinating plant species she has encountered while exploring the swamps, riverbanks, and forests in the Black River watershed. She has documented numerous rare species in these habitats and will discuss their ecology, historical/cultural significance, and ongoing conservation efforts to protect these species. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about the unique native species that call our region home and to engage with a knowledgable local expert.
The seminar will be held in person at Coastal Carolina University with an option to join by Zoom (zoom link will be emailed upon registration). This seminar is open to the public and members of other SCNPS chapters. We hope to see you there!
